Authorities serving a warrant at a 48-year-old city man's home Wednesday, got an alleged confession from the man that he robbed eight cabdrivers this year.
Moses Singletary, 48, was found in possession of cocaine when police arrived at the residence. According to police, he then admitted robbing the drivers.
Following an investigation, Singletary was positively identified as a suspect following interviews with victims.
The spree began April 25, at Broome Street, when a cab driver told police he went to drop-off a passenger when he pulled a gun on him and demanded cash.
On May 8, a second cab driver reported picking up a passenger at Ferry and Market streets as the cab reached the destination, Somerset Street, the passenger poked the cab driver in the hip with an object and demanded cash and keys.
All the other six reported robberies occurred within the same vicinities, in some cases in the same street, following a similar profile, police said.
Singletary may face additional charges.
