Englewood New Jersey

Police arrested a 37-year-old Newark man accused of snatching a woman's purse at a bus stop and holding up a gas station later that night, police said.

Monday night, Pablo Perez allegedly snatched a purse and a bag from a North Bergen woman as she waited at the bus stop on Broad and East Sheffield Avenues.

Later that night, Perez was arrested after trying to rob an attendant at a Shell station on Route 17 in Hasbrouck Heights.

Perez was connected to both incidents after a series of details including him using the same car in both robberies.

Perez was charged with second-degree robbery by force in the Englewood incident, added police.

His bail was set at $75,000 and $100,000 for the Hasbrouk Heights robbery.

No injuries were reported.
