A growing grassroots effort to connect New Jersey residents with employment opportunities is taking another major step forward this week in Newark.

NyJee Coram, founder of the Instagram platform JobOpeningNJ, is hosting a community-focused job fair designed to bring real opportunities directly to those seeking work.
What began as an organic effort online has quickly evolved into a trusted resource, helping thousands across the state find employment leads and career pathways.
In partnership with the United Community Corporation (UCC) and the Urban League of Essex County, the upcoming JobOpeningNJ Job Fair will provide access to employers, community resources, and support systems aimed at helping residents move toward stability.
Location: Westside Community Center, 600 South 17th Street, Newark
Date: March 25, 2026
Time: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Organizers say the event goes beyond simply matching people with jobs.
“This is more than a job fair — it’s about restoring hope, creating access, and reminding people that opportunity is still within reach,” organizers shared.
Attendees are encouraged to register at the door and bring copies of their resumes. Community members seeking employment, career changes, or support resources are urged to attend and take advantage of the opportunity to connect face-to-face with employers and service providers.
With economic challenges still impacting many households, events like this aim to bridge the gap between job seekers and meaningful employment, right in the heart of the community.
