Newark Ironbound Woman For Possession of Illegal Gambling Machines

Police officials in Newark are reporting that members of the Newark Police Division’s Vice Crimes Task Force arrested Ms. Grasiele Costa Ferreira, 32, of Newark, for possession of illegal gambling machines and alcohol.

According to authorities, police responded to 148 Rome Street today in response to citizen complaints regarding an illegal gambling establishment also serving alcohol without a license.

Upon arrival, officials say Vice detectives arrested Ferreira, who also faces charges of illegal possession of alcohol. Police confiscated five gambling machines along with several cases of beer, wine, alcohol and $950.00 in illegal proceeds.

These charges are merely accusations.

The suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
