After being stabbed in Newark's East Ward Saturday morning, a man suffered severe injuries.
Police responded to reports of an injured person near the intersection of Jackson and Ferry street around 2:55 a.m.
Upon arrival, officers found the heavily bleeding victim suffering a stab wound in his abdomen.
The injured male was transported to University Hospital for treatment and was listed in stable condition.
Police are investigating the motive for the stabbing and no arrests have been confirmed.
