Newark Ironbound Robbery Suspects Sought by Police

Authorities are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a male wanted in connection with two robberies that occurred on Nov. 17th.

Officials say the two robberies occurred between 12:30 a.m. and 1:25 a.m. on the 200-block of New Jersey Railroad Avenue and in the area of Buren and Hamilton streets.

The first incident involved two masked men who robbed a victim of cash and personal property. The second incident involved one suspect, armed with a handgun, who removed a victim’s purse containing personal property.

Robbery detectives investigating this incident obtained photos of one of the suspects and are seeking the public’s assistance in quickly identifying him and removing him from the streets.

The first suspect is described as 6’ tall, 180 lbs. and was last wearing a hooded sweatshirt, light colored vest, red or orange pants and sneakers. He was armed with a handgun.

The second suspect is also described as 6’ tall, 180 lbs., and was last seen wearing a black mask and dark clothing.
