Newark Ironbound Jewelry Store Thieves Stole $30K Worth of Jewelry Police say

Police in newark seeks the public's help identifying female suspects who are wanted for a large scale theft at a jewelry store in Newark's Ironbound section in December.

According to police, shortly before 2:40 p.m., two women entered Simon Jewelers, located at 91 Wilson Avenue, and used a debit card to purchase jewelry.

Police say during the initial purchase, the card was declined and one of the suspects placed a call then provided the store’s attendant with an authorization code where the suspects then made another purchase.

The total amount of purchases made by the two suspects was over $32,000.00 according to police.

Police say the store was later advised that the transactions were declined
