Newark Ironbound Black Friday Alleged Armed Carjackers Sought by Police

Police in Newark seeks the public’s help in identifying suspects who are wanted for a carjacking that occurred on Friday, November 23rd, 2018.

According to police, at approximately 7:40 p.m., police responded to the 500-block of Market Street on a carjacking report.

Police say upon officer's arrival, two men approached the victim, who was unloading equipment from his parked car, then demanded his vehicle at gunpoint.

According to police, the two males stole the vehicle, a 4-door, black 2008 Audi A6, fleeing South on Van Buren Street and West on Clover Street.

Police described the first suspect as a black male, approximately 5’6” tall with a heavy build. Police say he wore a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants and was with a handgun.

The second suspect is described as a Hispanic male, wearing a black jacket and blue pants according to police.

Detectives investigating this incident are actively searching for these suspects and seek the public’s assistance in quickly locating and removing them from our streets. This investigation is active and ongoing.
