Newark Ironbound Armed Carjacking Suspect Sought

Police in Newark requests the public’s help in Identifying a male suspect wanted  in connection with a carjacking that occurred on Thursday, December 30. 

Police sad just after 12 p.m., the suspect entered a victim’s vehicle in the 200 block of Lafayette Street and ordered the victim to get out.

The suspect was unable to drive off in the vehicle and fled on foot, heading westbound on Lafayette Street with the victim’s purse.

Carjacking

While detectives are actively searching for the suspect, we seek the public’s help in quickly identifying him.

Police say the suspect is described as 6’1” tall, heavy set, and was wearing a navy blue cotton hoodie sweatsuit, black ski mask, and black and white sneakers.
