Newark Police officials have launched an investigation into a commercial armed robbery that occurred early Thursday morning.
According to a preliminary investigation, at approximately 1:40 a.m., two suspects armed with a gun entered the Comfort Suite Hotel located at 1348 McCarter Highway And announced a robbery.
Reports said the unidentified male and female pointed the weapon at an employee at the front desk and took an unknown amount of cash from the hotel.
According to police, the pair fled the scene and remained at large.
There were no injuries reported.
