Newark – Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray and Newark Police Director Eugene Venable announced today that Angel Perez, 21, of Newark, who was wanted for the murder of Keron Brown, 38, also of Newark, was arrested yesterday in the Bronx, New York.
Perez was taken into custody by the FBI Fugitive Task Force. He is charged with the Aug. 7 fatal shooting of Brown. Brown was shot and killed in the 100 block of Brunswick Street in Newark.
The Honorable Robert Gardner, Judge of the Superior Court, set bail at $1 million. Perez is being held at the Essex County Correctional Facility in Newark.
These are accusations. All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they enter a guilty plea or are found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
