Newark Home Invasion Robbery Suspects Sought

Police in Newark are investigating a home Invasion Robbery that occurred in the 400-block of North 7th Street Thursday.

According to police, shortly before 11 a.m., two men in dark clothing knocked on the victim’s door in a rooming house.

When the victim opened the door, the two men overpowered him and tied him up before searching the victim's apartment and leaving with cash police said.

The victim said that both suspects were Hispanic males and that one was wearing a coat with a North Face logo.

The victim, who wasn't injured in the incident, notified police after he was able to free himself.

Police have not ruled out the possibility that the robbery was committed by individuals the victim knows.

Police said the suspects were last seen fleeing south on North 7th Street.

While police are actively searching for these individuals, they seek the public’s assistance in quickly locating them.

The investigation is continuing.
