Newark Natives Join University Hospital Community Engagement Staff

Newark

University Hospital officials welcomed Newark natives to their community engagement staff.

According to a statement released by the hospital, Brooke Tippens, a graduate of Newark's Weequahic High School, brings two decades of experience in community relations, program development, and relationship building.

Officials say Brooke comes from the Newark Public Schools where she led a public partnership to transform low-performing schools.

In addition, the hospital also welcomed Tyrone Daye, who was born and raised in Newark’s West Ward.

Organizers say Tyrone brings years of experience in community organizing and increasing educational opportunities for young people, most recently for the City of Newark.
