Newark Fire officials reports that Weequahic High School has been evacuated by the Newark Fire Division due to the presence of gas fumes today.
Officials say shortly after 11 a.m., the NFD Haz-Mat Unit responded to the high school, located at 279 Chancellor Avenue, on a call of vapor fumes emanating from an unused classroom.
Haz-Mat members are investigating the source of the fumes.
