Newark Firefighters made fast work out of a rapidly moving fire that ignited two trucks at a location in the city's North Ward Saturday night.
According to preliminary reports, crews were dispatched to the 200 block of N.12th Street at Springdale Avenue to investigate reports of a structure fire at approximately 10:55 p.m.
Units arrived and found a truck fully involved in flames and fire extending to a second truck inside a yard according to reports.
Crews were able to knock down the fire in under a half-hour with a search of both vehicles for trapped and injured occupants coming back negative.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
This is the second vehicle fire in the immediate area in the last seven days.
