Newark Emergency Responders Extricate Victims From Crashed Vehicles in Two Seperate Collisions

Newark Emergency Responders' contingency heroically rescued victims from crashed vehicles trapped in two separate collisions Sunday. 

In the first crash, police responded to reports of a collision with injuries near Lincoln Park and Clinton Avenue around 1:20 a.m. 

Firefighters and emergency responders found a damaged vehicle that rolled over with one person trapped inside. 

Crews were able to extricate the victim and then hand the unidentified person over to EMS, who transported the individual to University Hospital in stable condition. 

In the second collision, at approximately 3 a.m., police received reports of a crash with injuries at the intersection of McCarter Highway and 3rd Avenue. 

Upon arrival, firefighters and rescue crews found the collision scene with a person trapped inside one of the cars. Emergency responders successfully extricated the victim from the car without severe injuries. 

The causes of both crashes are under investigation.
