Police in Newark has launched an investigation into the death of a person found inside a residence in the city's East Ward.
According to preliminary reports, police were called to the 100 block of East Kinney Street at approximately 2 a.m. after receiving reports of an injured person.
Upon their arrival, police found an unidentified person hanging inside the residence reports said.
Medical staff pronounced the person dead at the scene.
There were no immediate reports of suspicious activities.
