Police in Montclair charged two Essex County teens with trying to burglarize and possibly steal cars in Montclair last week.

According to Montclair Police, on Wednesday, Janu 18th, officers responded to the vicinity of Graham Terrace and Stonebridge Road on a report of two males attempting to gain entry into parked vehicles.

Montclair Police officials said responding officers located the two males exiting a driveway on Stonebridge Road.

Police say surveillance footage in the area showed the two suspects attempting to enter several vehicles in the neighborhood.

The two males, Newark and East Orange juveniles, were taken into custody and charged with Criminal Attempt Burglary.

Police credited residents in the neighborhood for following information to secure cars, making it difficult for the juvenile to make unlawful entry.

Authorities continued to remind residents to lock car doors and never leave valuables such as cash and cell phone in plain view where the vehicle would become an easy target.
