Newark Day Center Now Registering for Free Preschool Program

Newark Day Center is open for Registration for the 2022-2023 Academic School Year. Newark Residents who have a 3 or 4-year-old by October 1st can enroll their child in this free preschool program.  

This will be a full-day program: 8:20 am-3:00 pm, before and aftercare is available.

The Newark Day Center is the oldest social service agency in New Jersey and the third oldest in the nation.  

Newark Day Center has served the greater Newark Community for 218 years.

Newark Day Center’s Early Childhood Education program provides infant, toddler and preschool education for over 200 children ranging from 3 months through 5 years of age.

We have a high-quality program with certified teachers who are trained to implement the most current educational initiatives for young children.  

Our programs include Early Head Start, which is a federally funded community-based program for low-income families with pregnant women, infants, and toddlers.  

We collaborate with the Union Township Community Action Organization (UTCAO). 

Abbott Preschool Program is a free preschool program for Newark residents. The program services 3 and 4-year-olds.  

The Preschool program collaborates with the Newark Public Schools Office of Early Childhood.   

Our center is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and licensed by the State of New Jersey.
