Police in Newark are on the search for a burglary suspect who broke into a church in the city's Central Ward church then ransacked an office.
According to preliminary reports, police were called to the Muhammad Ali Avenue side of the Hopewell Baptist Church just before 9 a.m. Saturday morning to take a report of a burglary.
Officers arrived at the church observed the front door open and an office door broken into reports said.
Police searched the facility and found the office ransacked, but police did not confirm if the suspect took anything during the burglary.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
