Police in Newark are on the search for a suspect wanted for a carjacking that occurred this evening in a city neighborhood.
According to preliminary reports, police were called to the 400 block of South 15th Street near 14th Avenue to investigate a carjacking that occurred at that location at around 5:40 p.m.
The victim informed units arriving at the scene that an unidentified male placed an object to their back and demanded the keys to a silver Range Rover with a reported NJ license plate number "RM7-8EC."
There were no physical injuries reported.
