Newark-Based Non-Profit to Give Away 10,000 Free Cloth Masks to Newark Residents

Newark

Girls; Live, Love, Laugh Inc. (GLLL), a Newark-based non-profit that's focused on developing leadership, career development and education in young girls in the city, recently received a ten thousand cloth mask donation.

Many under-resourced residents in the city are essential workers with low-income jobs that cannot be done remotely. As one of Newark’s civic engagement organizations, GLLL is doing their part to help residents with limited resources who cannot afford to buy a supply of masks, in order to be safe in the workplace.

Moreover, GLLL is aware of the consequence of not wearing a face mask which can cause the spread of the #Coronavirus to the residents of Newark and be hazardous to the health of its people, particularly those most vulnerable.

They want to do their part as civic leaders, by making sure that Newark residents have the tools they need to help stop the spread of COVID-19.

CEO and Founder of GLLL, Allison James is thrilled to announce the collaboration with the Office of Mayor Ras J. Baraka & the city of Newark on the #MaskUpNewark Initiative.

Mask will be distributed at the City’s COVID -19 Popup Testing Sites and placed inside the city’s weekly food distribution bags.

GLLL will distribute masks to churches, masjids, and schools that are having in-person services and senior citizen homes.

Together Girls; Live, Love, Laugh Inc. and the city of Newark will ensure that ten thousand Newark residents will be #MaskedUp.

"As the CEO and Founder of Girls; Live, Love, Laugh Inc. and a Newark resident my team and I will continue to provide essential tools and impactful services throughout the pandemic and post COVID-19," Allison James said.
