Newark Armed Robbery Suspect Sought

Officials are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a male wanted in connection with an armed robbery that occurred yesterday.  

According to authorities, at approximately 1:40 p.m., police responded to The Lion Supermarket, located at 502 Irvine Turner Boulevard, for a report of a robbery.

Upon arrival, police learned that a man entered the supermarket and demanded money at gunpoint. The suspect then fled, on foot, south on Irvine Turner Boulevard.

Officials say the suspect is described as a dark complexion male with tattoos on both arms. He was last seen wearing a tan hat, dark blue shirt, blue jean shorts, a black belt, black sneakers and a purple and white bandana over his face.

While police are actively searching for this suspect, they seek the public’s assistance in quickly locating him and removing him from the streets.
