Newark Armed Carjacking Under Investigation

Police in Newark are on the search for a suspect who carjacked a person on a Newark South Ward street on Sunday morning.

In the second armed carjacking that occurred on Sunday morning in Newark, police reportedly responded to a location in Elizabeth to pick up a male who said he was driven to the Union County city by an armed carjacker.

The victim said the suspect forced him to take a ride then dropped him off in Elizabeth then sped away in his car shortly before 12:30 a.m.

Police say the vehicle is a black 2011 Mitsubishi with a reported NJ license plate number "455-KYK" and they are in the process ascertaining the exact location of the carjacking.

The victim described the victim as a 6' tall black male who wore a white shirt, black jeans and is approximately 30-40 years old. Police say the suspects wore a mask and glasses during the terrifying incident.
