New York Pedestrian Killed on Route 46 in Totowa

Passaic County authorities said at approximately 3:47 a.m. on Sunday, police responded to 275 Route 46 West in the Borough of Totowa in response to a report of a motor vehicle accident.

Upon their arrival, officers discovered that a 2018 Jeep Wrangler, operated by a 31-year old Morristown resident, struck Ahmed Idid, 24, of Rego Park, NY.

Officials said Mr. Idid was pronounced deceased at the scene at 4:11 a.m.

According to police, no other pedestrians or vehicles were involved.

The driver of the Jeep Wrangler remained on scene and produced a valid driver’s license.

No charges have been filed at this time, but the investigation remains active and ongoing.
