New York Man Killed in NJ Turnpike Crash in Woodbridge

NJ State Police investigators are investigating a crash that killed a NY man early this morning.

According to a state police spokesperson the crash was reported at approximately 11:28 a.m. in the northbound outer roadway at milepost 93.6 in Woodbridge.

Police say a Honda Civic was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes when the driver collided head-on with a box truck.

The driver of the Honda sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced on scene according to police.

Police identified the fatally injured victim as Steven Hom, 57, of Scarsdale, NY.

Authorities say the driver of the box truck is from Oakdale, NY and sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Police closed the left and center lanes for about 3 and half hours for the investigation.
