New York Man Dies Following Serious Crash in West Milford

A New York man has died after sustaining critical injuries in a two-vehicle crash in West Milford over the weekend, according to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and West Milford Police Chief Shannon Sommerville.

 

Authorities said the collision occurred at approximately 5:55 p.m. on May 31 at the intersection of Warwick Turnpike and Lake Shore Drive in the Hewitt section of West Milford.

 

Investigators said the crash involved a Dodge Charger and a Nissan Pathfinder. 

The driver of the Dodge Charger, a 30-year-old man from Bardonia, suffered severe injuries and was airlifted to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center for treatment.

 

Officials said the man succumbed to his injuries on June 1 and was pronounced dead.

 

The driver of the Nissan Pathfinder, a 28-year-old man from Hewitt, was transported to a hospital for evaluation and was later released.

 

The investigation remains active and ongoing. Authorities said additional information will be released as it becomes available.
