New York Man Arrested After Selling Cocaine to Undercover Detective in Englewood

A 25-year-old New York man was arrested on drug distribution charges after selling cocaine to undercover detective, Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli announced today.

On Monday, March 9, Joseph Caputo distributed one (1) ounce of suspected Cocaine in exchange for $1,200.00 after negotiating with undercover detectives from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotic Task Force. Subsequent to the transaction, Caputo was placed under arrest without incident.  Joseph Caputo was charged with distribution of a controlled dangerous substance, namely cocaine, in a quantity greater than one-half (1/2) ounce but less than five (5) ounces, a crime of the second degree.

Bail for Caputo was set by the Honorable Louis J. Dinice, J.M.C. at $25,000.00 with no ten percent option.

He was remanded to the Bergen County Jail in lieu of bail.
