New York Man Admits Transporting Explicit Images of Minors Into New Jersey

A New York man today admitted transporting multiple items depicting explicit images of minors into New Jersey, U.S. Attorney Philip R. Sellinger announced.

According to U.S. Attorney Sellinger, Jesus Modesto Sanchez, 31, of New York, pleaded guilty to an information charging him with one count of transporting of explicit images of minors.

According to documents filed in this case and statements made in court:

In October 2020, Modesto Sanchez began communicating on a web-based application with an undercover officer, who he believed was a minor. 

Modesto Sanchez was arrested on October 17, 2020, after traveling from New York to New Jersey to meet the minor. 

Law enforcement subsequently discovered a significant collection of explicit images of minors on Modesto Sanchez’s cellular telephone, including approximately 72 videos and one image depicting the explicit abuse of minors.
