Newark

By: Richard L. Smith

Good morning, New Jersey!

We’re wrapping up a very busy and rain-soaked week on a much brighter note as sunshine returns across the Garden State.

As of this morning, it’s a comfortable 69 degrees in downtown Newark, and we’re headed for a pleasant end to the workweek.

Even better, a beautiful, sunny weekend is on the way, giving everyone a chance to dry out and enjoy some great summer weather before the start of next week.

Temperatures around the region are off to a comfortable start, with West Orange at 64 degrees, New York City at 68, Roselle Park at 67, Passaic County around 69, and Toms River checking in at 71 degrees.

The radar is quiet this morning, with no rain in sight.

After several days of heavy downpours and flooding concerns, today brings lower humidity and much more comfortable conditions.

According to the National Weather Service, today will be sunny with a high near 85 degrees and light, variable winds. Tonight will be partly cloudy with a low around 68 degrees and calm winds.

Enjoy the sunshine, have a safe Friday, and get out there and make it a great day, New Jersey!
