Authorities in Atlantic County announced that on May 9, at approximately 11:02 p.m., the Pleasantville Police Department responded to 9 West Pleasant Avenue in Pleasantville in reference to shots fired.
Officials stated officers arrived and located Baseem Taliaferro, 38, from Galloway Township, deceased inside the residence.
Taliaferro had at least one gunshot wound to his torso, according to officials.
Officials said he was pronounced deceased while on scene.
Authorities say the cause and manner of death are pending an autopsy.
This incident is currently being investigated by the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office’s Major Crimes Unit and the Pleasantville Police Department, officials say.
