New Brunswick Man Crashes After Fleeing Traffic Stop

A 51-year-old New Brunswick man crashed into an apartment building after he refused to stop when police tried to pull him.

According to police, on Feb. 24th, at 8:03 pm, A Patrol unit attempted to stop a Motor Vehicle near the Walmart/Fashion Plaza Shopping Center. The vehicle refused to stop and continued, leading the officer on a pursuit through the shopping center property.

The suspect SUV eventually left the roadway, drove off-road, through a wooden fence, where he then lost control and struck an apartment building on the other side of the off-road area according to authorities.

The driver bailed out and fled on foot, but was apprehended by Officers a short time later.

The building was damaged and turned over to Construction Officials and Maintenance for repair.

Timothy Williams, 51, of New Brunswick, was arrested.

Williams was charged with a litany of charges, including Eluding Police, Possession of drug paraphernalia, and many motor vehicle violations.
