New Brunswick 7-Eleven Worker Charged After Deadly Beating Altercation

According to a statement released by Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and New Brunswick Police Chief Vincent Sabo, investigators are looking into a deadly incident that unfolded at a convenience store in New Brunswick early Tuesday morning.

Authorities said that around 1:40 a.m. on September 30, 2025, police received a 911 call requesting medical assistance at the 7-Eleven located on George Street. 

When officers arrived, they found 44-year-old Markeem Moore of Manville unresponsive inside the store. 

He was rushed to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

 

Detectives determined that Moore had been involved in a physical altercation with a store employee identified as 29-year-old Taiwan Sanders-Boyd of New Brunswick. 

Following the investigation, Sanders-Boyd was taken into custody and charged with second-degree reckless manslaughter.
 

Officials confirmed that Sanders-Boyd is being held at the Middlesex County Adult Correctional Center while awaiting a pre-trial detention hearing.

 

Detective Keith Walcott of the New Brunswick Police Department and Detective Olivia Ankudowicz of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office are leading the case.
