Multiple Vehicles Involved in Early Morning Crash on Route 1&9 in Newark

Newark police are investigating a multi-vehicle crash that caused injuries and significant delays on Route 1&9 early Thursday morning.

The collision occurred around 1 a.m. just south of the Pulaski Skyway. Emergency crews, including firefighters, responded quickly to the scene and requested police assistance for traffic control due to the extent of the wreckage.

According to preliminary reports, as many as six vehicles were involved in the crash. 

Several individuals sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Three of the vehicles required towing from the highway, and the incident caused traffic delays in the area during the early morning hours.

The cause of the crash remains under active investigation. 

Authorities are urging drivers to use caution and remain alert when traveling through the area.
