Police in Elizabeth are actively investigating several armed robberies of businesses that occurred in Elizabeth on Monday morning.
Authorities confirmed several robberies and released little details on the incidents but according to preliminary information, at approximately 8:40 a.m.police were called to a business in the vicinity of 855 Summer Street after receiving reports of an armed robbery in progress.
Upon arrival at the store, police were informed by employees that a black male suspect who wore dark clothes entered the establishment armed with a gun and took an unknown amount of cash before fleeing the store.
Police also received armed robbery reports at a business on Cherry Street then employees from a business on Summer Street reported that they were robbed by the same suspect at 7 a.m. but did not report to police until approximately 9 a.m.

There were no physical injuries reported.
