Police in Paterson are actively investigating a shots fired incident that occurred in a neighborhood in the city Friday night.
Reports of shots fired sent police to the 50's block of Jersey Street, at around 4 a.m., where arriving officers immediately taped off the area after locating evidence that a shooting occurred, but a thorough search of the area resulted in no injured victims being found.
Police notified hospitals around the region to be on the lookout for possible walk-in shooting victims as they continued to canvass the scene finding over a dozen shell casings according to reports.
The investigation into the motive for the shooting remains active and ongoing.
