Multiple Injuries Reported After Shuttle Bus Crashes Into Concrete Wall at Newark Airport

Emergency crews responded to Newark Liberty International Airport early Monday morning after a shuttle bus reportedly crashed into a concrete wall, leaving more than a dozen people injured.

The crash was reported shortly before 3:50 a.m. near 3 Brewster Road at the airport. 

Initial reports from the scene indicated that emergency medical personnel declared a mass-casualty incident as crews evaluated multiple passengers.

 

According to preliminary  reports,  10 people were classified with minor injuries while 3 others were reportedly serious. 

The victims were transported to University Hospital in Newark for treatment. 

All of the injuries were reported as non-life-threatening.

 

The circumstances leading up to the crash were not immediately clear. Authorities are expected to investigate what caused the shuttle bus to strike the concrete wall.
