Multiple Armed Robberies in Newark has Authorities Searching for Suspects

There is a search for several suspects responsible for an armed robbery sprees that had about a half dozen victims reporting robberies this afternoon in Newark.

The brazen armed robbers (who were only described as three black males and a black female) began their violent spree at around 5:15 p.m. in the 900 block of Broad Street when the group singled out a female victim (around the age of 20-years-old) who was walking down the block when the suspects approached armed with a weapon.

The suspects began to demand personal possessions from the victim.

During robbery, one of the suspects began to attack the victim, slamming her onto the ground then snatching about $25 in cash and a cell phone from her hand.

The victim did not suffer serious injuries.

The group of suspects continued their spree by marching down Broad Street, stopping near 990 where they lined up, then robbed at least two to three other victims, taking cell phones, cash, and other personal possessions.

Police are also investigating an armed robbery that happened in the 80's block of Clinton Ave. where a man reportedly pointed a gun at a male victim, taking a cell phone before fleeing the scene.

There were no injuries reported.
