New Jersey State Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding an early Saturday morning multi-vehicle crash on the Garden State Parkway in Union County.
According to preliminary information, emergency crews were dispatched shortly after 1 a.m. to the southbound lanes of the Parkway, just south of Exit 135 in the Cranford area, after receiving reports of a three-vehicle collision.
One of the vehicles reportedly overturned, and initial reports indicated that at least one occupant may have been trapped, prompting firefighters, EMS and other emergency personnel to respond to the scene.
The circumstances leading up to the crash and the number or extent of injuries have not been immediately released.
New Jersey State Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
