Newark Police are investigating the cause of a crash that injured at least one person on Route 22 Sunday morning.
Police said just before 7:15 a.m., emergency responders rushed to the area of route 22 near Empire Street to investigate reports of a crash.
Rescue crews arrived and found about three vehicles involved in a collision with a trapped person inside one of the cars.
Police said the victim was extricated from the vehicle then transported to the hospital for treatment of non-fatal injuries.
The cause of the crash has not been released at this time.
