Authorities in Sussex County are investigating a tragic motorcycle crash that claimed the life of one person in Montague on Saturday evening.
The incident occurred around 7:20 p.m. on Route 23 near Sawmill Road.
According to preliminary reports, emergency responders rushed to the scene after receiving several 911 calls reporting a serious motorcycle accident.
When police and EMS crews arrived, they found the rider had been ejected from the motorcycle following the crash.
Life-saving measures, including CPR, were administered on-site, but the victim was later pronounced dead.
No other vehicles or injuries were reported in connection with the crash. The identity of the motorcyclist has not been released pending notification of family.
The cause of the accident remains under active investigation by local authorities.
