Motorcyclist Killed After Ejecting From Motorcycle into The Hackensack River in Secaucus


A motorcycle rider was killed after a crash on a highway in Hudson County had the motorcyclist eject from the bike and land into the Hackensack River late Tuesday night.

Police received a call reporting a crash on Route 3 at approximately 10:55 PM

The caller reported seeing a motorcyclist go into the water near a bridge at 2 Harmon Plaza, Secaucus.

Upon arrival, emergency responders reportedly found the victim's helmet, which prompted them to search the Hackensack River.

Police say during the search by Secaucus and East Rutherford firefighters, they found the body of an unidentified male floating in the river.

Medical personnel pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

Police closed a portion of the westbound lanes for the overnight investigation. The cause of the crash has not been determined at this time.
