Motorcyclist Killed After Crash Ejected Him Off Jersey City Bridge

Jersey City Police are looking into the cause of a crash that killed a motorcyclist on a roadway on Sunday afternoon.

According to Jersey City Police, the crash happened around 4:26 p.m., when The Jersey City Fire Department responded to a call from a stunned motorist of a motor vehicle accident on 14th Street near the approach to the Holland Tunnel.

Jersey City Police officials said upon a further investigation, first responders were led to the area behind Monmouth Street, under the turnpike extension ramp.

Police say the motorcyclist ejected off the bike and over the bridge where he plunged over 25 feet to his death.

Emergency crews pronounced the motorcycle driver dead at the scene.

There were no other injuries reported.
