Mother, Child Injured in Jersey City Stabbing

Jersey City

By: Richard L. Smith

Hudson County authorities are investigating a double stabbing that seriously injured a child and his mother in Jersey City Sunday night.

A preliminary investigation indicated that at approximately 9:47 p.m., police were dispatched to an address in the 70's block of Randolph Avenue to investigate reports of a possible domestic violence incident.

Upon arrival, police notified EMS to rush to the location after they found a woman and a young boy -around (11-years-old) suffering stab wounds at that location.

The mother and child were rushed to Jersey City Medical Center for treatment, where the boy is reportedly in serious condition.

Initial reports revealed that the attacker is acquainted with the victims. Still, authorities have not confirmed if the mother and the suspect were romantically involved or in a relationship at this time.

The suspect fled the scene in a white vehicle that authorities believe was heading toward NYC.

He was taken into custody and charged.

The incident is in its preliminary stages of the investigation, and we will share additional details as that become available.
