Police from Montclair and West Orange were engaged in a police pursuit of a vehicle that refused to obey police lights and sirens during a traffic stop overnight.
The incident reportedly began in Montclair when police observed a vehicle that license plates came back stolen forcing units to follow the vehicle and attempt a stop in the area of Valley Road and Claremont Avenue.
The driver of the vehicle sped away and entered the city of West Orange where officers joined in the pursuit.
According to reports, police lost sight of the vehicle in the area of I-280 east.
Police are looking for a white 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee with reported NJ license plate numbers "M51-HDD".
Authorities said that two black males occupied the vehicle.
