Montclair Police are investigating a shooting that occurred on Mission Street, injuring two individuals on Friday evening just before 6 p.m.
The area, situated between Elmwood Avenue and Bloomfield Avenue—a neighborhood familiar with crime and past shootings—saw a significant police response following the incident.
Details from the scene are still emerging, but witness accounts suggest that gunfire broke out, leading to a large deployment of law enforcement to the area.
According to reports, police located two gunshot victims during their search of the community. Both individuals were urgently transported to University Hospital in Newark for treatment.
As of early Saturday morning, the conditions of the victims remain undisclosed.
