Montclair Police Investigate Friday Evening Shooting That Hospitalized Two

Montclair Police are investigating a shooting that occurred on Mission Street, injuring two individuals on Friday evening just before 6 p.m.AdThe area, situated between Elmwood Avenue and Bloomfield Avenue—a neighborhood familiar with crime and past shootings—saw a significant police response following the incident.

Details from the scene are still emerging, but witness accounts suggest that gunfire broke out, leading to a large deployment of law enforcement to the area.

According to reports, police located two gunshot victims during their search of the community. Both individuals were urgently transported to University Hospital in Newark for treatment.

As of early Saturday morning, the conditions of the victims remain undisclosed.AdDetectives are actively canvassing the scene for evidence as they seek to understand the circumstances leading up to the shooting.

The motive behind the incident is still under investigation, and no arrests have been reported by police so far.

Montclair Police are urging anyone with information about the shooting to come forward to assist with the ongoing investigation.
