Montclair Firefighters Extinguish Early Morning Two-Alarm House Fire

Montclair firefighters made fast work extinguishing a fire that ignited inside a house in the city early Tuesday morning.

According to preliminary reports, the fast-moving fire broke out inside a house located in the 70's block Llewellyn Road where firefighters arrived to find thick smoke and flames coming from the roof a brick-faced struck.

Crews began to attack the fire from the exterior as flames started to extend from the lower level of the home up to the roof.

Firefighters were able to enter the home for a search but no trapped or injured victims were found. The fire was placed under control in under a half hour with the home suffering significant damage.

The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
