Newark residents will have two chances to celebrate the season as M&M’S prepares to host a pair of Halloween events filled with candy, costumes, and family fun.
The gatherings are scheduled for Saturday, October 18, at Boylan Recreation Center and Sunday, October 19, at JFK Recreation Center, both running from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Guests can expect tote bags stuffed with Mars Wrigley candy and seasonal treats, along with the opportunity to pick from size-inclusive costume kits designed for all ages.
According to information released by Mars, the events will showcase a mix of returning favorites and new activities, reflecting this year’s theme: “It’s More Fun Together.”
Highlights include a face-painting station to complete costumes, a candy cornhole game for lighthearted competition, and a candy potion station where visitors can create custom mixes of their favorite sweets to take home.
Popular features like karaoke and art activities will return, while photo stations throughout both recreation centers will give families a chance to capture memories of the day.
To ensure accessibility for everyone, organizers have arranged sensory-friendly quiet zones at each location, offering a safe space for individuals with neurodivergence or anyone who needs a break from the excitement.
With fun, creativity, and plenty of candy on the agenda, the Halloween events promise to bring the Newark community together for a weekend full of laughter and festive spirit.
