Million Dollar Powerball Ticket Sold in Essex County

TRENTON, N.J. (April 11, 2016) – There was one $1,000,000 second-prizewinning New Jersey Lottery ticket sold that matched the 5 white balls for the Saturday, April 9 drawing. The winning ticket was purchased in Essex County at 7-Eleven #34174, 287 Bloomfield Ave., Verona.

If the ticket had been purchased with Powerplay, it would have been worth $2,000,000.

In addition, one New Jersey third-prizewinning ticket was sold that matched 4 white balls and the Powerball making it worth $50,000. If the ticket had been purchased with the Powerplay, it would have been worth $150,000.

The winning ticket was sold in Bergen County at Rushmore Food Store, 407 Washington Ave., Dumont.

Moreover, 31,832 New Jersey players took home an estimated $170,919 in prizes ranging from $4 to $300, according to Lottery Executive Director Carole Hedinger.

“Congratulations to these fortunate lottery players who purchased the winning tickets,” said Hedinger. “These lucky players now join the growing ranks of New Jersey Powerball winners.”

The winning numbers for the Saturday, April 9 drawing were: 14, 22, 23, 41 and 61. The Red Power Ball number was 09. The Multiplier number was 03.

The Powerball jackpot will roll to $184,000,000 for the next drawing to be held Wednesday, April 13 at 10:59 pm.
