Mild Start to the Week in Newark, North Jersey Region with Chance of Showers

 A warming trend is moving into Newark and the North Jersey region to kick off the week, bringing milder temperatures and a slight chance of rain.

It’s a cool start across the region, with temperatures around 48 degrees in downtown Newark.


 If you’re heading out early for work or making your way to the bus stop, you’ll want to grab a jacket. 

Keeping an umbrella nearby is also a good idea, as isolated showers are possible later today, though nothing too significant is expected.

 

According to the National Weather Service, today will feature a 20 percent chance of showers after 2 p.m. 

 

Skies will be partly sunny, with a high near 67 degrees. Southwest winds will range from 10 to 15 mph, with gusts reaching up to 30 mph.

 

Tonight, conditions turn more unsettled with showers likely, mainly after 5 a.m. Tuesday. 

Skies will remain mostly cloudy, with a low around 55 degrees. Winds will continue from the southwest at around 10 mph, with gusts up to 21 mph.

The chance of precipitation is 60 percent, with light rainfall expected.
